中醫治未病的思想是不治已病治未病,不治已亂治未亂;養生是中醫治未病的基礎和根本出發點。養生一詞最早來自於《莊子。內篇》,「生」就是生命和生長,「養」就是調養,補養,保養,養護之意。中和者必久壽。

五色食療,五色入五臟:青養肝屬木、赤滋心屬火、黃益脾屬土、白潤肺屬金、黑補腎屬水。五臟(肝心脾肺腎)儲藏精氣,六腑(膽小腸胃大腸膀胱三焦)負責傳導與消化飲食。中醫論點強調【三分調,七分養】當體內臟腑失調使用保健食品,藥品調理外,更重要的是注重日常的運動,飲食,睡眠,情緒等健康的生活起居作息習慣。
